The first rehearsal of TIC – The Improvisers’ Choir last Sunday was a meeting of musical minds: our seven improvising vocalists, coming from horizons as varied as jazz, funk, opera, contemporary classical, baroque, Irish folk, Indian classical, latin, gospel, musical theatre and cabaret, got to know each other personally and musically under the gentle steer of Artistic Director Jenni Roditi.
As we want to achieve a balance of vocal ranges for the ensemble, we are now urgently looking for adventurous male singers wishing to audition this coming Friday 23rd October – to join the choir and work towards the December performance. To be considered for an audition – and to contact us for any further questions – please read below!
To be considered for an audition for TIC – The Improvisers Choir:
please send to Fanny Martin, Project Manager
1. a video or audio link of you singing
2. a short statement (100 – 150 words) about your vocal experience and include a comment about why you are interested in joining TIC.
Your material will be reviewed. Not everyone who applies will be selected for audition. Those selected will be sent a link through which you can book in for your audition. Please note that at this stage we are looking for male singers as a priority.
Auditions will be held on Friday 23rd October in Crouch End, London N8.
I am very interested when you are looking for female singers. I am alto/mezzo-soprano range. My experience is in musicals (in my work as a professional actor, e.g. International tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, Guys and Dolls etc.) and as a jazz singer. I can send you a recording when needed by you. I live in East Finchley Many thanks.
Hi Nicola
Thanks for your interest! We are not taking any more women for this concert as you understand. This is a pilot project so we will decide after the concert if we are going to continue in the future. If we do you are very welcome to audition for a future project.
Kind regards, Jenni
